Become an International Authorized Provider with American Lifeguard Association®
American Lifeguard and Safety Training™
We want to thank you for your interest in our association. We offer lifeguard certification programs through provider agreements. We work with swimming pool facilities, water parks, waterfronts, and beach patrols worldwide, including South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. We also work with the Fire and Rescue departments regarding water emergency response teams.
The American Lifeguard and Safety Training is a critical service with the support of employers and government agencies. The certification program of the American Lifeguard Association meets OSHA requirements for health and safety training and regulatory, licensing, and accreditation requirements. Our program’s skills reflect ECC science and findings from the United States Lifeguard Standards Coalition Report. The American Lifeguard Association has been listed over the years with the CDC Healthy Swimming website. In addition, the U.S. Department of Labor and the General Service Administration (GSA) has determined that the American Lifeguard Association offers lifeguard certification programs similar to those provided by the American Red Cross.
We offer provider agreements to qualified entities where the fee is $1,495.00 per calendar year and then a small per student certification fee plus shipping for group cards. After you receive your American Lifeguard Provider Agreement, we will send you links to our online training videos and reference materials that you will need to be familiarized with. You would need to have one of your key staff members learn the skills to teach your students. Once your students have completed our training program under your direct supervision, we will issue a waterproof wallet certification card for Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid. Rosters are to be turned in online upon course completion, and we will process the certifications within one business day. The provider may instantly receive a pdf file snapshot of the front and the back of each card. All cards will be Federal Express on the very same day with a tracking number.
If you are interested in becoming a Provider with the American Lifeguard Association, we ask that you email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
SEE BELOW THE FULL TERMS OF AGREEMENT:
The American Lifeguard Association is an educational association with the full support from the Swimming Pool and Spa Foundation and Global Lifeguards, both a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. These organizations are all members of the Global Lifeguard Association, and makeup one of the largest worldwide aquatic consortiums. Over the past 30 years, they have certified over 250,000 individuals worldwide. Training programs are offered to the general public both online and at over 3,000 locations in over 120 countries and 900 cities.
The American Lifeguard Association has set up [Provider], which is located at the below address, to be a 2023 International Authorized Provider. This agreement allows them to conduct and advertise our certification program anywhere outside the United States.
It is the responsibility of the provider to ensure the candidates have access to the reference materials and are able to complete the various required skills. The fee is $1,495.00 for the first registered instructor, and then an additional $1,000.00 per instructor per calendar year. There is an additional $25.00 per student processing fee. All payments are due upon receipt of invoice. Your initial payment will be acknowledgment that you accept the full terms of this agreement.
Currently, the training videos and reference materials may be accessed through the Internet, so there is no study material cost. We will email you the links to the online materials, along with all the exams necessary to be reviewed and completed by each of your students.
Upon completion of each of the Lifeguard certification classes, which would also include CPR/AED and First Aid, we would require that you enter the student information into our online program and email us the number of students that completed the program. This information must include their first and last name, along with their date of birth. The student information must be entered the very same day of class completion. Once we receive the roster, we will process the American Lifeguard Association certification cards within 24 hours and we will then ship the waterproof certification cards by FedEx directly to the provider. There will be additional shipping fees applied, but we have favorable FedEx charges due to the volume of business we do with them. In addition we will have the candidates’ successful results posted within 24 hours of receipt of the roster, or online exam, on our affiliate’s website at http://www.universalcertification.org, which may be verified at any time in the future.
Please note that delays in turning in the student rosters, in regard to group testing, by the end of the day may result in the suspension of your designation as an authorized provider.
