How to help Dorian victims
We ask that you donate today! We have placed a minimum donation of $10. All proceeds will go directly to Hurricane Dorian victims through our affiliate Global Lifeguards, Inc., which is a 501(c) non-profit organization.
The Bahamas is where Dorian gave its most brutal beating. There, the death toll has reached 43, and destroyed as many as 13,000 homes. The United Nations said that at least 76,000 people are in need of urgent aid, but we are just beginning to understand the severity of the damage.
The National Hurricane Center is reporting that Dorian is now tied with the 1935 Labor Day hurricane for the strongest Atlantic hurricane landfall on record. Scientists don’t think that climate change will increase the frequency of hurricanes, but it will make them more dangerous. As the planet warms, we can expect to see more intense rainfall associated with storms and more destructive storm surge, which is when a storm’s wind pushes water inland.
GLOBAL LIFEGUARDS, INC is endorsed by The American Lifeguard Association and affiliated with the President's call to service, USA Freedom Corps and The American Safety and Health Institute, Global Lifeguards is a not for profit volunteer organization dedicated to uniting volunteers worldwide, promoting health and safety, education and communication. Trained volunteers learn to recognize hazards and the significance of activating the public safety system. Volunteers are also encouraged to save lives through CPR, First Aid, and other related Health and Safety programs. We encourage worldwide participation from individuals, existing volunteer organizations and programs, while also seeking participation from police, fire, emergency medical, lifeguard, park services, security, and other public safety agencies.
